The EnergyMatching project is coordinated by EURAC. The consortium is represented by 17 partners operating in 7 European Countries: Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Spain, The Netherlands and Sweden.
EnergyMatching industrial partners include SME manufacturers (FERROAMP, NIBE, TULIPPS, PLASTICA, EUROFINESTRA, ONYX, PELLINI, SOLARWALL), large construction companies (BOUYGUES), specialists in exploitation management of innovative projects with a large expertise in RES (R2M), and largely recognized experts in dissemination and communication activities to support market uptake (WIP). Two public entities (CASASPA and LUDVIKA HEM), together with HABITAT 76 and BOUYGUES provide the project demonstration sites. Finally, 3 RTD organizations (EURAC, TECNALIA and DALARNA University) provide the core support for technical activities.

Eurac Research
Eurac Research (The Institute for Renewable Energy) is a private research centre based in Bozen-Bolzano. EURAC conducts applied research on advanced energy systems, based on or including sustainable energy sources. Its activities include national and international research projects, promotion of renewable energy technologies and scientific consultancy to political decision-makers. The Institute's research involves the extensive use of dynamic simulations and multiphysics modelling of advanced energy systems and buildings. Scientific results are based on laboratory tests of single components and integrated energy systems, as well as the monitoring of applied demonstration sites, experimental outdoor installations and residential buildings.
EURAC coordinates the EnergyMatching project. Among the tasks EURAC will develop the knowledge hub as the framework for development of optimal RES harvesting business case up to district scale, working specifically on software optimisation tool and modelling approach. In addition, the EURAC team will contribute to the definition of solar window building block concept, its performance assessment and economic rationale. EURAC will also contribute to the technology development, performance assessment and economic rationale of solar assisted ventilation system, and on the identification of the best district scale management strategy for maximising RES harvesting and use.

HOGSKOLAN DALARNA
The working group of Solar Energy Research Center SERC was established 1984 at HOGSKOLAN DALARNA, and has since become the biggest group working on applied solar energy in Sweden, with over 20 researchers and lecturers. The group has become well known for multi-disciplinary research with social anthropology and political science together with technical areas – with the aim of understanding the possibilities for and the barriers to implementing new energy technology into the society. Key focus areas have been system simulation, thermal storage and system integration as well as more recent studies on PV systems.
In EnergyMatching HOGSKOLAN DALARNA will support the activities related to the EnergyMatching knowledge hub and software optimisation tool and will work specifically on Public platform reporting EnergyMatching districts. In addition, HOGSKOLAN DALARNA will support NIBE and Ferroamp in their technological development and working especially on Development of building and district energy control strategies.

TECNALIA
TECNALIA Research & Innovation is a private, independent, non-profit research center of international excellence. TECNALIA is the leading private and independent research and technology organization in Spain and one of the largest in Europe.
The participation within EnergyMatching project will be executed by the Solar Energy Group, belonging to the Energy and Environment Division of TECNALIA. The Division is focused on renewable energy sources (wind, solar, marine, bioenergy), smart grids, energy storage, energy efficiency in buildings, materials for energy and environment, sustainable mobility, electric vehicle and power electronics. TECNALIA activities in solar energy cover two main fields: solar photovoltaics and concentrated solar power (CSP). The group involves 20 researchers and the support and collaboration from other TECNALIA groups. The Solar Group has an experience of 15 years in developing research projects and technology transfer at national and international levels.
In EnergyMatching, TECNALIA will lead the work package related to active skin technologies, coordinating the development of several families of solar and high-performance products for the building envelope. TECNALIA is also involved in the technology development of photovoltaic modules for building integration based on lightweight composite materials, simulations of active skin technologies at element level and indoor testing of these technologies.

FERROAMP
FERROAMP is a manufacturer of innovative power electronics for renewable energy and energy storage based on local DC grids. The novel concept brings a future proof way of integrating renewable technologies while increasing efficiency, reducing costs and supporting a sustainable grid. FERROAMP innovative technology has been recognized in different international awards such as winner of the ees Award in 2016 as well as named in the 2018 Global Cleantech 100 list.
In EnergyMatching, FERROAMP will contribute to the development of hardware and software for a higher degree of integration of PV, storage, heat and the utility grid. A major part of the work will be software development both locally on the different products used in the concept but also in the cloud for integrating with other resources. Development work will also be done to investigate the economical aspects and business models when sharing resources.

TULIPPS
TULIPPS B.V. is a production & development company actively pursuing intellectual property and know-how in the area of Photovoltaic (PV)-module technology and innovative bill of material solutions. TULIPPS mission is to deliver the most beautiful cost-effective, and versatile, PV function-integrated building envelope and to make the new BIPV module technology available to system suppliers in the building industry and in time, once the factory is up and running, sell technology licenses to module producers.
In EnergyMatching, TULIPPS will further develop their patented Click-&-Go” COSMOS® building skin substructure and mounting technology for pre-fab pitched roofs and façade building skins with both active PV panels as well as non-active other plate materials fitting in the same mounting system. TULIPPS will also further develop, experiment, and demonstrate size and shape flexibility in order to deal with the diversity of buildings, locations, and situations.

PLASTICA
Since 1978, PLASTICA is a SME-Family owned company which has been supplying sheet materials for internal and external use and developing new façade solutions. PLASTICA’s sheet materials are available in wood, stone, stone composites, metal or plastic. All of their materials are sustainable, in terms of both production and durability. The products are certified and they all meet the highest standards. PLASTICA is a certified sustainable company, CSR certified to level 3. PLASTICA enters into sustainable relationships with their customers, utilizes fair business practices with consideration for the environment and social involvement with their surroundings.
In EnergyMatching, PLASTICA will provide technical-, market-, and façade business experience to the project and will participate in the development of the versatile click & go building envelope solution with photovoltaic integration.

EUROFINESTRA
EUROFINESTRA designs, produces, setups and installs directly its high energy efficiency wood&cork windows systems.
The company was established in 1996, its composed by 26 employees and it is internally structured in six parts; windows and doors production, special parts production, logistical area, management office, commercial office and technical office. It has a turnover of about 2 million euros. EUROFINESTRA’s products are known and appreciated for their design, high efficiency and artisan’s quality. The goal of every day work is to find better solutions, while respecting the environment and endorsing the natural materials. The research and innovation are leaded by the aim to reduce the carbon footprint and improve living comfort.
In EnergyMatching EUROFINESTRA will develop the solar window block, acting a system integrator, and will install EUROFINESTRA technologies in the demos sites.

ONYX
ONYX is a technology driven company founded in Ávila (Spain) that develops cutting-edge smart building solutions for Building Integrated Photovoltaic’s (BIPV) to be used as building materials in façades, windows, roofs and skylights. These solutions consist in the replacement of conventional materials such as glass or ceramics for a material with photovoltaic properties, showing not only undeniable aesthetic value but also customized for each project, producing clean and free energy from the sun. ONYX Multifunctional BIPV Solutions allow the entry of natural light, provide thermal and sound insulation, they filter out harmful radiation, produce clean and free energy thanks to solar power and feature an innovative, customized design which can be integrated into any type of building without limitations of color, pattern, transparency degree, thickness and size. All these solutions allow to the architect and the client to have a variety of designs for their projects depending on the needs required.
Main activities to be carry out by ONYX in EnergyMatching will be the development of the BIPV laminated glass to be integrated into the solar window block and the BIPV coloured, thin and light-weight glass-glass modules to be integrated into the TULIPPS click&go substructure.

SOLARWALL
Conserval Engineering was founded in Toronto in 1977 and its European company, SOLARWALL Europe was founded in 2009 to manage projects in Europe. The Conserval Group of companies are the largest in the world for solar air heating on commercial, industrial and government buildings. In 2014, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) honored SOLARWALL® as one of the top 9 energy innovations of the past 200 years. SOLARWALL® has also received commendation from the U.S. Department of Energy and Natural Resources Canada. To date, Conserval has supplied over 500,000 m2 of SOLARWALL® in projects across 7 continents and in 40 countries—eliminating tens of thousands of tons of CO2 each and every year. SOLARWALL Europe is the supplier of the SOLARWALL solar air heating system which is to be utilised on the buildings listed in this proposal.
SOLARWALL Europe will provide design assistance to the project participants to integrate its SOLARWALL solar air heating systems onto the buildings and with the heat pumps and associated controls.

R2M Solution
R2M Solution Srl is an integrated and multi-disciplinary entrepreneurial innovation company that aggressively targets filling the gap between research activities and market implementation across the fields of Innovation, Engineering, Energy Services & Sustainability and ICT/Automation. R2M is a strategic innovator itself and as part of its business model helps organizations and projects plan and execute the strategic use research funding carried out over a comprehensive development strategy from idea to market. In doing so, R2M provides leadership, links high performance exploitation-oriented networks, and leverages public and private funding instruments.
In its sustainability consulting activities, R2M conducts ISO 50001 consulting, LEED certification, sustainable design consulting for retrofits and new construction, renewable energy system design, building energy simulation, fault detection and diagnosis and IPMVP planning and assessment.
In the EnergyMatching project, among other activities, R2M will lead project results exploitation and business models development and will also contribute to EnergyMatching knowledge hub as the framework for development of optimal RES harvesting business case up to district scale, working specifically on development of EnergyMatching platform.

WIP Renewable Energies
WIP Renewable Energies has been active in the renewable energy and energy efficiency sectors for over three decades, providing a range of technical expert and non-technical services to both industrial and public sector clients at the international level. WIP has a long record of performing outstanding activities for, and in close co-operation with, the European Commission and German national entities.
WIP’s know-how covers the entire clean energy sector, including photovoltaics, energy in buildings, small hydro, wind, biomass and grid integration. WIP offers project development, project management, technical supervision and realization of projects, which involve the co-ordination of international consortia. WIP’s interdisciplinary team of professionals provides expertise and consultancy services to improve the performance of sustainable energy systems and to promote renewable energies and energy efficiency.
In EnergyMatching WIP will lead the work package related to the dissemination and communication activities.

CASA SPA
CASA SPA is a company responsible for the design, implementation and management of the assets of public housing of the 31 municipalities in the Florence area. It manages about 13,000 housing units and currently is involved in the planning, design and construction work of new construction, building rehabilitation and maintenance for about 3.300 accommodation. The entire building activity of the company is focused on criteria of eco-compatibility and energy efficiency.
Now CASA SPA is involved in building public housing buildings made of wood, with x-lam, in the context of urban regeneration, high energy efficiency, nearly zero energy building (NZEB) and, due to the EU directives, it is also focusing on principles of natural ventilation.
CASA SPA will be responsible for providing the Italian demo case study as well as designing and implementing EnergyMatching solutions in it.

LUDVIKAHEM AB
LUDVIKAHEM AB is a public housing company, owned by Ludvika municipality. The object of the company is to acquire, own, build, sell and manage residential apartments as well as business real estate. The purpose of the company is to contribute to accessible housing in Ludvika and create good living environment for residents.
Overall, LUDVIKAHEM holds 3,387 residential units, including 128 units with special housing for the elderly and 25 units for tenants with disabilities.
LUDVIKAHEM will be responsible for providing the Swedish demo case study as well as designing and implementing EnergyMatching solutions in it.

PELLINI SPA
PELLINI SPA was founded in 1974 in Codogno, Northern Italy, as a craftsman, family-owned company producing venetian blinds, folding doors, mosquito nets and awnings. The division ScreenLine, specialized on the development and production of shading integrated inside a sealed insulated glass unit was born in 1992 with the introduction of the first system in the ScreenLine® range – a system based on rotational transmission of motion obtained by the coupling of internal and external magnets. Today the company operates on a worldwide scale with 8 production facilities around the world and is an acknowledged leader in the field of integrated sun shading systems.
In the EnergyMatching project, PELLINI will develop a stand-alone, self-powered motorized integrated solar shading capable of optimizing the solar gains and daylighting of the façade according to the building/user needs.

BOUYGUES CONSTRUCTION
As a global player in construction and services active in 80 countries, BOUYGUES CONSTRUCTION designs, builds and operates public and private buildings, transport infrastructures, and energy and communications networks. Operating from upstream to downstream of the construction process, BOUYGUES CONSTRUCTION has developed expertise and businesses that cover the entire value chain. Its aim is to meet the specific needs of each customer while each service it performs is thought out in terms of the whole lifecycle of a building or structure. BOUYGUES CONSTRUCTION operates in France and many other countries in four major business areas: buildings, civil works, energy & services, and concessions. Furthermore, BOUYGUES CONSTRUCTION is active in many research and development programs, alongside the rest of the BOUYGUES group, particularly in the fields of energy, digital technologies and sustainable buildings.
BOUYGUES CONSTRUCTION will ensure that the implementation of the active adaptive envelope solutions is planned since the conception phase. BOUYGUES CONSTRUCTION will work in coordination with the architect for the aesthetical aspects, with the façade manufacturer for the integration/installation process and all the regulatory aspects (fire resistance etc.), and with the energy performance experts for the thermal and energy aspects.

NIBE Energy Systems
NIBE Energy Systems is the market leader for the heat pumps segment in the Nordic region, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands, Poland and the Czech Republic. Customers are the RMI sector (Renovation, Maintenance, and Improvement) and the new housing market. The parent company NIBE Industrier AB (registered office in Markaryd, Sweden) has been quoted on the Stockholm Stock Exchange’s O list since 1997. NIBE Industrier is a European heating technology company whose business operations are organized in three separate business areas: NIBE Element, NIBE Energy Systems and NIBE Stoves.
In EnergyMatching, NIBE will contribute to the development of heat pumps for a higher degree of integration with FERROAMP energy hub.

HABITAT 76
HABITAT 76 is the first social public housing in Normandy. HABITAT 76 was funded in 1919 and nowadays manage 30.000 units, spread over 191 municipalities. Their activities are built toward the following objectives: support local housing policies and meet the housing needs of the entire Seine Maritime territory; facilitate access to housing for all citizens; maintain the existing stock to maintain its attractiveness; and to exploit eco-efficient solutions, in construction as well as renovation, in a cost effective and sustainable manner.
HABITAT 76 will be responsible for providing the French demo case study as well as designing and implementing EnergyMatching solutions in it.
